What is a Tuning Fork?
A Tuning Fork is used as part of the Rinne test to assess a patient’s hearing. Doctors will place a humming tuning fork near the patient’s ear and using a stopwatch, time how long the patient can hear the vibrations. Tuning forks are also known to be used when X-rays are unavailable to determine whether a bone is fractured or not.Read more
