UrgoTul Dressing 10cm x 10cm
Want to know more?
UrgoTul is a non-adherent, highly conformable contact layer with TLC healing matrix.
Every acute wound has the best chance of healing with the UrgoTul dressing line. UrgoTul dressings provide a moist wound environment, which is ideal for healing, and does not stick to the wound bed, making removal painless and trauma-free. It is flexible and conformable, making it ideal for packing deep wounds, treating irregular wounds, and covering wounds in difficult areas.
Features:
- Foam pad provides vertical wicking and containment of exudate, protecting the periwound skin from maceration
- Semi-permeable backing has high moisture transmission rate, which helps reduce maceration and preserve wound margins
- TLC™ Technology properties help prevent the dressing from sticking to the wound
- Upon contact with exudate, a protective gel forms allowing for virtually pain-free dressing changes
- Gentle micro-adherence to the periwound skin helps with one-handed application
Indications:
- Acute wounds (burns, dermal abrasions, traumatic wounds, postoperative wounds), chronic wounds (pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers) at the granulation and epithelialisation stage.
- Congenital epidermolysis bullosa wounds.
Contraindications:
- Known sensitivity to the dressing.
Precautions for use:
- Urgotul sticks to latex surgical gloves. To make handling Urgotul easier, it is advised that gloves be moistened using regular saline.
- If there are any clinical indications of a local infection, the doctor may opt to use an antibacterial dressing to continue treatment.
- If the wound is deep, irregular, or fistular, leave a portion of the dressing exposed and accessible outside the wound.
- UrgoTul must not be used during hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy without an oxygen mask (risk of combustion due to the presence of fat). This contraindication does not apply for hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy with an oxygen mask if the oxygen concentration inside the chamber is less than 25% and if UrgoTul is not applied on the area over which the mask is placed.
- Single-use, sterile individual packaging: reusing a disposable dressing increases the risk of infection.
- Before using, make sure the sterility protector is intact. If the packaging is broken, do not use.
- Do not re-sterilise the dressing.
