Accoson was established in 1859 but it wasn't until 1904, that they started producing blood pressure machines. To this day the current range of Accoson sphygmomanometers are known for their quality and ease of use. Based in Harlow Essex now they boast a comprehensive Quality Assurance programme which has given them both an ISO9001:2000 and ISO13485:2003.
Accoson noticed that a lack of a clear successor to mercury lay in the question of accuracy. Others did exist, the aneroid and the automated devices however as aneroid devices are mechanical they can suffer from being knocked out of calibration. With their pencils and creative minds ready, Accoson set to work and developed the Accoson greenlight 300 sphygmomanometer. This innovative device provides a highly accurate and reliable instrument whilst eliminating the use of mercury.
